HOWIE MCCORMICK PHOTOGRAPHY

Howie brings an artistic edge to the RISE lineup. His attention to detail — from the actual shoot to the final touches on his composites — has earned him the respect and trust of athletes, parents and coaches in West Virginia, Ohio and Florida. 

He started his sports photography career as a freelancer for the Ironton Tribune in southern Ohio while he was still in high school. Within a couple of years, he accepted a full-time position there and learned his way around a Nikon under the guidance of the late Kent Sanborn.

As a demand for his work grew, he decided it was time to  go in to business for himself and started his first venture called "The Smoking Lens". The business model was mostly game action photography with online sales and eventually added team and individual services for local leagues and teams.

These days, Howie still shoots low-mid volume sports as well as game action. Much of his work is based in composite shooting with an emphasis on what he calls "naturally surrealistic" images.
